Summer rains in Brisbane. Lovely time indoors cutting lino pieces; accumulated drawings that took shape as a drawing before bed exercise...Id gotten this idea from a Louise Bourgeois monograph in which she detailed in an interview the many diaries she kept as a way to record her life. Seems like a way to capture both conscious and subconscious...Anyway I'm not disciplined in any way in terms of writing in diaries; I don't write meaningfully I only write to purge and I couldn't keep written ones and a visual one as I often combine the two or even just end up listing things like artists I'm interested in. Oh well being this way - I though id draw directly onto the lino block each night I remembered and cut whenever.... its a good beginning and I'm gradually finding that there are groups of things popping up.. and the series is taking shape. Always a 'series' in things isn't there? :}}
